Be A Better Listener - Active Listening Skills
"We Hear With Our Ears ... But We Listen With Our Minds"
Who Should Attend?
This course will be of benefit to anyone who wants to improve their communication skills, as it:
- Focuses people on listening attentively to others.
- Helps people to avoid misunderstandings.
- Shows people the way to confirm what the speaker has said, to ensure the right message is getting through.
- Develops concentration skills.
- Helps to develop good relationships between people.
About the Programme
Experiments have shown that most people
only absorb 25% of what they have been
told. To improve on this you need to be an
active listener. "Active listening" is a way of
listening and responding to another person
that improves mutual understanding. Often
when people talk to each other, they do not
listen attentively. They are often distracted, half
listening, half thinking about something else.
This course demonstrates a structured way
to "listen actively" and respond in such a way
that the speaker knows you are listening
and understanding. It is a very practical
course as all the skills need to be practised to
ensure a change occurs outside the training
environment.
