Senior Management Associate, Spearhead Training, U.A.E.
Dolores is a native of Northern Ireland and has over fourteen years of experience in the fields of management, training and teaching.
She has extensive experience in delivering finance and accounting-based courses to non-accountants. Dolores courses cover areas such as budgeting, costing, investment appraisal, management of working capital, and interpretation of final accounts. She also delivers a range of business writing courses, and has a great deal of experience in delivering soft skills training, especially in relation to the hospitality sector.
Instructing both first and second language speaking candidates from a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds allows Dolores to demonstrate her dynamic communication and interpersonal skills. Moreover, Dolores tailors results’ orientated programmes to suit her clients’ needs, and through meticulous planning ensures individual candidates have personalised training tools to promote effectiveness in the workplace. Delegates enjoy Dolores programmes because of her lively delivery that is totally focused on achieving the individual client’s desired outcomes.
Dolores completed a B.A. Honours degree in Hospitality Management at the University of Central Lancashire, before embarking on a management career in the five-star, hotel industry. In 1992, she took her first overseas position in the Peoples’ Republic of China, working for a major hotel chain. She then returned to Ireland, taking up a food and beverage management position with an independent outlet, in Dublin, before moving to the U.A.E. with the Forte Group in 1995. In 1997, she moved to Kuala Lumpur and took up the position of Training & Development Manager for Southwick Training Consultants, providing services for companies such as HSBC bank, ABN AMRO Bank, & Pan Pacific Hotels.
Moving back to the U.K. in 1999, Dolores continued her professional development, returning to university and obtaining a post-graduate qualification in Adult Training and Education, from the University of Huddersfield. She then worked for eight years in the education sector in the U.K., the U.A.E. and Qatar with adult learners and tertiary level applicants, preparing them for British and European examinations in the fields of business, economics and sociology.
In 2007 joined Spearhead Training as a Senior Management Associate.
