Diana is a Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.), accredited by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Diana brings over 16 years’ experience in the international banking and finance sector into the training room. Coupled with a solid accounting, credit, transaction banking and corporate and institutional banking background, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, she is a highly sought after trainer.
In 1992, Diana started her career in the accounting and auditing profession with K.P.M.G. in Hong Kong. Her exposure ranged from conducting statutory audit, liquidation due diligence, to corporate restructuring due diligence for her clients, which included large local conglomerates, banks and non-bank financial institutions.
In 1996, she joined the syndicated lending desk of Deutsche Bank, and specialised in originating, structuring, and syndicating loans to large Hong Kong corporates. This marked the beginning of her 13 year banking career. She quickly advanced to the position of Relationship Manager, covering some of the most demanding Hong Kong blue chip names, and cross-selling syndicated lending, bilateral lending, commercial banking services and treasury products, to them.
In 2000, Diana was tasked by Deutsche Bank’s Asia Regional Head Office to start up a Regional Cash Management Customer Service Team in seven locations - Beijing, Shanghai, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and the Philippines. Staying on top of the ‘Voice of Customers’ by leading key clients’ service reviews, hosting client roundtables, and organizing client surveys, was one of her key client responsibilities. In 2004, building on her team’s success, she championed its transformation into a regional client coverage and service function, focusing on managing existing clients and acquiring new mid-sized local and multi-national names.
In 2006, Diana was appointed as the Hong Kong Head of Global Transaction Banking (G.T.B.), one of the core businesses of Deutsche Bank. In this role, she led a Sales and Client Delivery Team of over 60 people, specialised in business development and structuring and delivering transaction banking solutions to large and mid-sized local and multi-national corporate and institutional clients. Diana was not only highly regarded by her clients, but she also built and managed professional and productive relationships with all the in-house infrastructure groups.
The G.T.B. Asia Executive Committee recognised Diana’s passion and talent for people development, and appointed her to lead various people development initiatives. One of these was Lead Regional Trainer, rolling out an Advanced Presentation Skills workshop for all client-facing staff of G.T.B. in 12 locations - China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Pakistan, and Sri-Lanka. This focused on creating a broad-based coaching culture, and coaching key personnel on executive presence and corporate image. Diana finds a strong sense of purpose when seeing the transformation in people, through training and development, and how each single individual can be coached to bring his, or her best, to the organization, and make a positive difference.
Following her husband’s posting to the U.A.E., Diana and her family moved to Dubai in 2009. Shortly after that, she moved into the training and coaching profession, realising her career aspiration as a passionate and empathetic Corporate Trainer. Diana’s unique style of weaving her commercial experience and market knowledge into the training subject matter, and her enthusiasm for people development, not only make her programmes engaging and dynamic, but also very relevant and highly practical to the participants. Diana joined Spearhead Training in January 2011 as a Senior Management Associate.
