Senior Management Associate, Spearhead Training, U.A.E.Julia is a U.K. national, who has lived overseas since 2002. She has lived in the Middle East since 2007, and currently resides in Dubai. Her international management experience at senior level, covers working in the U.S.A., and Europe, including Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece, The Balkans (Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia, etc.), Russia, Kazakhstan, South Africa, North Africa, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iran, and the U.A.E. Her tertiary U.K. education was at North Devon College, where she studied Commerce, Law and Psychology. After college, she moved to London and began her commercial management career.
The springboard to Julia’s senior management positions was in the logistics industry, when she joined United Parcel Service (U.P.S.). Having managed the London sales team of U.P.S. in a fiercely competitive market, she then moved into international account management, when promoted to lead the U.K. team. One of her key achievements during her time with U.P.S. was project managing the centralisation of customer service calls in Europe. After opening a new ‘state of the art’ Call Centre in Nottingham, England, she managed this business unit for two years. During this time she travelled and worked extensively throughout the United States and Europe.
After leaving U.P.S. in 1998, Julia worked for a N.A.S.D.A.Q. listed major international telecommunications company, managing a multilingual call centre, in Westminster, London. In 2000 she left this post to start her own London-based Business Coaching and Development Consultancy. One of her first major clients was D.H.L. International. After working with D.H.L. for two years in Hungary on a contract basis as Commercial Manager, she was asked to join the company permanently in a key management role. She was appointed as Senior Sales Development Manager, based in Athens, where she was responsible for the sales training and development of 18 countries in the geographical region.
In 2007, Julia moved to Bahrain, to assume the position with D.H.L. of Regional Customer Experience Manager, with responsibility for 87 countries in the E.E.M.E.A. region (Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa), covering Russia, The C.I.S. (Commonwealth of Independent States), Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. She worked closely with the country teams in these markets, driving Customer Service Excellence. Her determination and influence in making a difference in these vastly challenging markets gave her wide experience in working with different nationalities, different cultures, and with different processes, while at the same time being able to deliver outstanding customer loyalty and service.
Moving to Dubai in January 2008 with D.H.L., Julia left this post and joined Spearhead Training in 2010 as Regional Customer Focus Manager. She now works with both internal and external customers, to ensure Spearhead maintains a 100% focus on delivering excellent service to its clients.
Julia specialises in all areas of Customer Service and Customer Experience Management Training, and has been a regular speaker on the subject at conferences in the Middle East.
