Senior Management Associate, Spearhead Training, UAE

Liz Russell is a native of South Africa, where she is an accredited South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) facilitator, assessor, and moderator. She is also an NLP Practitioner and Coach. Liz began her career in the South African military, where she obtained extensive experience in leadership, team building, supervisory skills and planning and organizing. She later held senior management positions in the military where these functions were fully implemented, ensuring effective organizational development. Liz left the South African National Defence Force in 2002.

From 2002 to 2004, Liz gained extensive experience in sales, marketing and negotiation, when she took the role of entrepreneur and partner in a corporate gifts and promotions company in South Africa. These skills were further strengthened by working in the South African residential property market from 2004 to 2006.

Being passionate about developing skills and encouraging life-long learning, in 2006 Liz joined Khulisane Academy, Pretoria, South Africa, as Head Trainer, where she trained a diversity of cultures from various corporate sectors. Her corporate training roles included training trainers, as well as supervisors, in coaching skills, facilitation skills, and the skills to assess and moderate assessments according to SAQA (South African Qualifications Authority) standards. Other programmes which she presented to corporate clients, included customer service programmes, leadership and management courses, and personal development programmes.

In 2007, Liz moved to the UAE, where she took up a post as Senior HR Officer and Trainer with a local skills provider. In this position, she trained expatriates and Emiratis in a number of programmes, including customer service-related programmes, entrepreneurial skills, and presentation skills. She later gained her NLP Practitioner and Coaching certification.

Liz believes that learning should be a life-long experience and is passionate about encouraging learning, through interactive and expressive training sessions. In 2008, Liz joined Spearhead Training as Senior Management Associate.

In 2015, Liz attended an ILM Assessor & Internal Quality Assurance Workshop conducted by ILM (City & Guilds), to assist her in delivering the ILM Endorsed and Accredited courses that are now being offered by Spearhead Training.
