Senior Management Associate, Spearhead Training, UAE
Lynette’s early career was spent in teaching the rudiments of business to South African students. Her search for challenge and pursuit of best practice, led to her then joining the academic faculty of the Department of Business and Economic Sciences of the University of South Africa (UNISA) in 1986. Her time at this institution was spent teaching undergraduate and post graduate programmes, and consulting to South African companies in management and leadership.
Lynette extended these activities to the banking industry when she joined the Standard Bank of South Africa in 1989. Her focus was on management and leadership development on a national basis within the banking group. Her training assignments, across all levels of management, included coaching, team-building, finance, marketing, etc., as well as a range of other soft skills programmes.
In 1994 Lynette joined the Institute of Marketing Management in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her activities centred around the design and accreditation of a three-year Diploma In Marketing Management, and a one-year Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing for Southern Africa (including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Swaziland and Botswana). In 1998 she expanded her marketing activities to include marketing research where she conducted customer satisfaction surveys and consumer product surveys for the national and international client base of Markinor, a Research House in Johannesburg, South Africa.
In 1999 Lynette established a training consultancy with like-minded individuals in Johannesburg, South Africa. This venture was aimed at providing training for businesses in the mining, financial, and industrial sectors in Southern Africa. Lynette provided training in leadership, management, marketing, finance, and various soft skills to the financial sector, as well as to mining companies such as Anglo American (gold, coal, platinum, etc) and its affiliates, and De Beers, (the largest diamond mining company in the world).
Lynette’s success in her career is attributed to the passion and energy with which she approaches her work, the strong relationships she builds with her clients and her response to challenges.
Lynette has a B.Com and B.Com (Hons) from UNISA, and an MBA from the Wits Business School in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her undergraduate qualification is in Accounting and Business Economics, and her Honours in Marketing.
Lynette joined Spearhead Training, Dubai, as a Senior Management Associate in 2007.
