A graduate from Helwan University , Cairo , Al Said began his career working for a five star hotel chain – the Renaissance-Marriott - in Alexandria , Egypt . This role required excellent customer service skills, first class teamwork and a clear understanding of all the aspects of operations for a major tourist destination.
Four years later, in 1999, Al Said joined Hyatt International as part of the project team assigned to launch the new Hyatt at Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt , which opened in April 2000. Al Said 's training career began with developing the new staff to prepare for this opening event. This experience highlighted the importance of building strong teams, and having effective leadership if an organization is to be successful. His experience during this time confirmed for Al Said that people are the main assets in any business, and that effective training is one of the key tools to help them develop and enhance their performance.
He remained with the Hyatt Group in a management role, with key responsibilities for ensuring optimum guest satisfaction, building an effective Front Office team, and continuously improving customer service standards. Training was an integral part of his role and he was responsible for delivering training in Telephone Skills, Complaint Handling, Leadership, and Winning Ways (Interpersonal Skills).
In November 2002, Hyatt International assigned Al Said to the opening of the Grand Hyatt Dubai – now one of Dubai 's outstanding new landmarks. Part of his responsibilities was interviewing and selection of staff. He was also assigned to develop and deliver a number of training programmes, including Staff Orientation Courses, Telephone Skills, Customer Service Skills, Complaint Handling, Service Excellence, Time Management, etc.
His background in the hospitality industry has been very helpful to Al Said in conducting training programmes and understanding the requirements of customers.
Al Said has always enjoyed training and therefore decided to pursue a full time career by joining Spearhead Training as Manager of the Arabic Training Department. Fluent in both Arabic and English, he is able to deliver courses bilingually with English notes, or in Arabic with Arabic notes.
Spearhead Training is able to offer 50 courses in English, a number of which can be delivered in Arabic.
