A graduate from Helwan University, Cairo, before moving into full time training and development, Al Said began his career in the hotel industry in Egypt. His career in five star hotels, which began in 1995, required excellent customer service skills, first class teamwork, and a clear understanding of all aspects of operations for a major tourist destination.
Four years later, in 1999, Al Said joined Hyatt International in Egypt as part of the project team assigned to launch the new Hyatt at Sharm El Sheikh, which opened in April 2000. This is now one of Sharm El Sheikh’s premier tourist locations. Al Said’s training career began here, with developing the new staff to prepare for this prestigious opening. This experience highlighted the importance of building strong teams, and having effective leadership if an organization is to be successful. His training was aimed at demonstrating that good teamwork is at the heart of the success of any enterprise. Without high morale and motivation, teams fail. Al Said’s experience at this time confirmed that people are the main assets in any business, and ‘effective training’ is one of the key tools to help them develop and enhance their performance.
In November 2002, Hyatt International assigned Al Said to a new project in Dubai – the opening of the Grand Hyatt Dubai – now one of Dubai’s outstanding architectural landmarks. Part of his responsibilities was interviewing and selection of staff. He was also assigned to develop and deliver a number of training programmes, including Staff Orientation Courses, Telephone Skills, Customer Service Skills, Complaint Handling, Service Excellence, Time Management, etc.
Working in the tourism and leisure industry has been of great benefit to Al Said, who has worked with many different cultures and nationalities. This experience has been very helpful in designing and conducting diverse training programmes, and understanding the explicit requirements of a wide range of clients.
Al Said has always enjoyed training and therefore decided to pursue a full time career by joining Spearhead Training in February 2004, firstly, as Arabic Training Manager, and then as a Senior Management Associate. Fluent in both Arabic and English, he is able to deliver courses bilingually with English notes, or in Arabic, with Arabic notes.
During his eight years with Spearhead, Al Said has successfully delivered many public and in-company training programmes in the U.A.E. and throughout the G.C.C to small, medium-sized and multi-national companies across a broad range of company sectors. He has worked successfully with many international clients in the U.A.E, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar.
Spearhead Training is able to offer more than 60 courses in English. A large number of these can also be delivered in Arabic, or bilingually (English / Arabic).
