Senior Management Associate, Spearhead Training, U.A.E.

A graduate from Helwan University, Cairo, Al Said began his career working for a five star hotel chain - the Renaissance-Marriott - In Alexandria, Egypt. This role required excellent customer service skills, first class teamwork, and a clear understanding of all aspects of operations for a major tourist destination.

Four years later, in 1999, Al Said joined Hyatt International in Egypt as part of the project team assigned to launch the new Hyatt at Sharm El Sheikh, which opened in April 2000. This hotel is now one of Sharm El Sheikh’s premier tourist locations. Al Said’s training career began with developing the new staff to prepare for this prestigious opening. This experience highlighted the importance of building strong teams, and having effective leadership if an organization is to be successful. His training was aimed at demonstrating that good teamwork is at the heart of the success of any enterprise. Without high morale and motivation, teams fail. His experience during this time confirmed for Al Said that people are the main assets in any business, and ‘effective training’ is one of the key tools to help them develop and enhance their performance.

In November 2002, Hyatt International assigned Al Said to a new project in Dubai - the opening of the Grand Hyatt Dubai - now one of Dubai’s outstanding new architectural landmarks. Part of his responsibilities was interviewing and selection of staff. He was also assigned to develop and deliver a number of training programmes, including Staff Orientation Courses, Telephone Skills, Customer Service Skills, Complaint Handling, Service Excellence, Time Management, etc.

Working in the tourism and leisure industry has been of great benefit to Al Said who has worked with many different cultures and nationalities. This experience has been very helpful in conducting diverse training programmes and understanding the explicit requirements of customers.

Al Said has always enjoyed training and therefore decided to pursue a full time career by joining Spearhead Training in February 2004 as Arabic Training Department Manager, then as a Senior Management Associate. Fluent in both Arabic and English, he is able to deliver courses bilingually with English notes, or in Arabic, with Arabic notes.

Over the last five years, Al Said has delivered many public and in-company training programmes both in the U.A.E. and throughout the G.C.C. He has worked successfully with many international companies in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar.

Spearhead Training is able to offer 55 courses in English. A large number of these can also be delivered in Arabic.
