Senior Management Associate, Spearhead Training, UAE
Yasma has an extensive, proactive and exciting background in training and nursing. She is a proud mother of six and has worked for over twenty years both in the U.K. and the U.A.E.
She originally moved to the U.A.E. to be with her husband and began her career at Zayed Military Hospital. During the eight years with the military she was actively involved in training staff in Medical Communication and Time Management, as well as extensive training on internal procedures. In her various roles at the hospital she was able to interact with a multinational team of staff and became actively involved with both patients and client training programmes.
On returning to Manchester in 1989, she continued to build her medical career and education, and took various courses to assist her career development. Simultaneously, she pursued a high flying career in Major BUPA / Manchester hospitals. During this time she was involved in facilitating various workshops, and promoting an interactive style of training.
In 1991, Yasma returned to the U.A.E. and was approached by Al Noor Hospital to lead a training programme in Clinical Skills for nurses and Effective Telephone and Receptionist’s Communication. Throughout this four year period, she gained rapid promotion, to become Director of Nursing in Al Noor Hospital. In this post she was responsible for the recruitment and development of a multi-disciplinary team, setting up new clinics, implementing training programmes, and writing policies and procedures for the junior / senior nursing staff and the administrative staff.
In 1996, she moved into the Aero Medical field of training and travelled extensively worldwide with Amiri Flight and Royal Jet. At the same time, she continued to give presentations and facilitate workshops for various medical groups. In 1997 she received her BN (honours), consolidating her nursing and training practices.
Over the past 15 years, her training role has evolved very strongly, resulting in the development and delivery of a number of programmes, including Staff Orientation, Stress Management, Effective Telephone Communication Skills, and First Aid / Basic Life Support.
Yasma has worked with, and trained many people, from a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds and is known to deliver programmes that are lively, always interesting, and specifically targeted to the needs of the people she is working with.
In January 2007, Yasma joined Spearhead Training as a Senior Management Associate, based in Abu Dhabi. Her brief is to deliver specialist programmes that meet the challenges of enhancing and increasing the levels of customer service and professionalism throughout the Middle East.
Yasma firmly believes that we all have the potential to become the best in our various work roles. Her training is aimed at bringing out the very best from her delegates through dynamic, interactive programmes.
